LISA MARIE HOLCOMB, M.Ed.


Lisa is the owner of two seasonal businesses, Wander the Whites (outdoor adventures and healing arts work) and GardenScapes & Reflective Wreaths, landscape and decorative wreath making. 


As the owner of Wander the Whites, Lisa has the experience as a leader for outdoor organizations since 1992 guiding and educating groups in New Hampshire and Maine’s National Forest and lakes. She holds her Master’s of Education degree (2007) from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, specializing in Character Development through Outdoor Programs and the Expressive Healing Arts.. Lisa is from the Finger Lakes of New York and came to the White Mountains in 1986 as a photographer and writer.  Students and adults have enjoyed relaxing half-day trips to crossing the Presidential Range, as well as canoeing and camping the lakes in Maine with Lisa. 


She has been recognized by USA TODAY 2022 and HIRE A GUIDE 2022 Mt Washington Valley Chamber initiative.


Lisa's professional education background includes working with and instructing for many established community organizations, schools and individuals in Mt Washington valley, Western and Portland Maine areas.  She is works and volunteers for local conservation and recreation non-profit organizations such as Mount Washington Valley Ski and Snowshoe Center, Appalachian Mountain Club, Upper Saco Valley Land Trust and Tin Mountain Conservation Center.  


Her Master's of Education Thesis merged the effects of Outdoor Education, Adventure and Healing Arts have on the development of a resilient character.  The Thesis was overseen by several very respected educators, including Dr. Thomas Lickona of SUNY Cortland, Lisa instructed for Universities, the Character Education International Organization and K-12 classes. Lisa's love for holistic healing and dance led her to co-ordinate several seasonal Wellness Events and run workshops at Holistic Spas and local Inns and Hotels.. She is a trained (Advanced) Reiki Master Teacher, by her mother Djiana Winter, M.Ed, author and owner of the Center for Inner Peace in Rochester, NY; and certified JourneyDance (tm), Ecstatic and 5Rhymns Conscious dancer and music set player for Portland Community Dance in Maine.. All of this woven together creates an eclectic deep perspective in Lisa's work with people of all ages..
